Few major classic car gatherings have such a long tradition as the British Car Meeting, or BCM for short, which took place on August 30, 2026, at the Mollis airfield in the canton of Glarus—just as it had in previous years—after a one-year hiatus (during which it was held in Kemptthal). Every year, the event—which is open to all British cars of every generation—attracts 1,000 or more vehicles. With perfect weather conditions, one might have expected a new record, but at first, the runway at Mollis and the adjacent areas filled up rather slowly. For individual participants, however, this was a positive development: there were no traffic jams, the drive to the venue took only a few minutes, and attendees even received an anniversary cap as a gift. As always, admission was free, but attendees were more than subtly directed toward the “collection boxes” where donations for the event were being collected. And rightly so!
