As usual, the hill climb regularity test—limited to 130 participants—from Missen to Wiederhofen, 2.1 km away and 176 m higher, was fully booked in no time. The lion’s share of participants came from the Allgäu classic car scene—which is very well-established in terms of both quantity and quality—as they made their home debut ahead of the Oberjoch Hill Climb in October, held 30 km away. The rest of the participants came from all over Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and South Tyrol. About the history of the event. Up until 1982, there were a total of seven hill climbs, some with German and international status. By the end, the event was even led by Johann Abt, a figure by no means unknown in German motorsports. After a 31-year hiatus, the club “Allgäuer Motorsport-Freunde e.V.” made a fresh start in 2003 with a regularity rally. This event is held every two years—except during the COVID-19 hiatus.
