In cooperation with Classic Data, Zwischengas offers market prices for classic vehicles (vintage and youngtimers).
Over 310'000 price listings for vehicle/year combinations are available and continuously updated.
Market prices are listed according to the established Classic Data condition grades 1 to 5.
The condition grades are defined as follows
Condition 1
Flawless condition. No defects, damage, or signs of wear, neither technically nor visually. Fully and perfectly restored top-tier vehicle. Like new (or better*). Very rare.
A vehicle that excites from the first glance and reveals no flaws even upon close inspection. The basis for condition grade 1 is the assumed state at first delivery — i.e., the original factory-new condition as defined by the manufacturer.
Condition 2
Good condition. Free of defects, but with slight (!) signs of use. Either a rare, well-preserved unrestored original or a professionally restored vehicle. Technically and visually sound with minor signs of wear.
A vehicle that excites at first glance but reveals light signs of use upon closer inspection. These light traces of use should be reflected in a verifiably low total mileage or low mileage since restoration. Accordingly, the level of technical wear is minimal.
Condition 3
Used condition. Vehicles with no major technical or visual defects, fully operational and roadworthy. No rust-through. No immediate repairs necessary.
A vehicle you approach and upon closer inspection clearly shows signs of use and various minor defects. These traces of use and defects should be reflected in a verifiable total mileage or mileage since restoration. The level of technical wear should correspond accordingly.
Condition 4
Worn condition. Only partially roadworthy. Immediate repairs are required to pass inspection according to § 29 StVZO. Light to moderate rust-through. The vehicle is complete in its main assemblies but not necessarily undamaged.
A vehicle you approach and where various defects are already visible from a distance. A closer look reveals significant signs of wear.
Condition 5
Restoration-needed condition. Vehicles in poor overall condition, not roadworthy. Extensive work required on all major components. Vehicle may not be complete.
A vehicle where even a layperson immediately notices obvious defects and/or missing parts. May also be used as a parts donor.
Comment
In reality, very few vehicles are consistently in condition grade 2. Often, certain elements (e.g., chrome) may correspond to grade 1, while others (e.g., leather interior or glass) might only deserve a 2.5 or 3. In detailed vehicle assessments, a car is therefore rated with intermediate values, such as “2+” or even “2.4”. As a result, the listed market prices can only provide an indication of a vehicle’s actual value, which may also depend on other factors such as racing history, prominent previous owners, deviations from factory specifications, and more.
Note on price differences by country
The listed market prices are primarily based on the German market. However, the classic car market is fundamentally global — especially for high-value classics. Regional and country-specific differences may arise due to legal frameworks, customs duties, taxes, levies, or local preferences and supply/demand situations. For more affordable vehicles, these differences can easily reach the double-digit percentage range.
